Which are you trying to connect to? (e.g., 802D, 840D) Are you using a physical serial port or a USB converter ? Do you have the Siemens Toolbox CD available?
Siemens has largely replaced Winpcin with newer tools like the utility (part of TIA Portal) and modern drivers (e.g., S7DOS). However, for legacy systems and specific serial connections, Winpcin remains irreplaceable . Without it, your modern Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC might not "see" a classic S5 PLC at all.
