welcome aboard

Ships of Hagoth is a digital-first literary magazine featuring creative nonfiction and theoretical essays by members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Where other LDS-centric publications often look inward at the LDS tradition, we seek literary works that look outward through the curious, charitable lens of faith.

Indrani effortlessly pulls off monochromatic pantsuits. Whether in a crisp white blazer set or a sharp navy blue ensemble, she pairs these looks with pointed-toe heels and structural jewelry to project confidence.

Vibrant silk and chiffon sarees, often in shades of maroon, pink, and orange.

Whether it’s a red bindi, red lipstick, or a red border on the saree, a hint of red is essential.

Let us explore the distinct style chapters of this versatile actress:

For red carpets and award ceremonies, Indrani frequently shifts toward elegant evening gowns. She prefers sophisticated silhouettes—such as A-line cuts, off-shoulder necklines, and satin drapes—over excessively embellished designs.

Nothing defines festive Bengali fashion quite like the red-and-white saree. Indrani frequently embraces this look during Durga Puja and cultural events. She prefers premium Garad sarees or heavy silk variants. She pairs them with puff-sleeved blouses that add a nostalgic, vintage charm. 2. The Regal Banarasi and Kanjeevaram

Floor-length suits with heavy Dupattas for a regal, non-saree look.

Never one to go overboard, her festive makeup is strictly "less is more." A defined (eyeliner), a bright matte lipstick (usually in maroon or terracotta shades), and the glow of sindoor complete her look.

Indrani Halder is a devout personality, and her festival looks are something to bookmark for your own wedding and festive wardrobe.

A CALL FOR

IONS

We are hoping—for “one must needs hope”—for creative nonfiction, theoretical essays, and craft essays that seek radical new ways to explore and express theological ideas; that are, like Hagoth, “exceedingly curious.”

We favor creative nonfiction that can trace its lineage back to Michel de Montaigne. Whether narrative, analytical, or devotional, these essays lean ruminative, conversational, meandering, impressionistic, and are reluctant to wax didactic.

As for theoretical essays: we welcome work that playfully and charitably explores the wide world of arts & letters—especially works created from differing religious, non-religious, and even irreligious perspectives—through the peculiar lens of a Latter-day Saint.

We read and publish submissions as quickly as possible, and accept simultaneous submissions.
